Jan Allen

Jan Allen

CEO - Founder

As a 28 year veteran working in the payroll profession Jan recognized a lack of support available within the industry, and saw an opportunity to create a company where various types of client-side payroll support could be provided on a consultative basis.  In 1999, she founded PayTech, a Payroll and HCM Consulting Company that guides companies through change management.  Jan is committed to building and maintaining lasting partner relationships, strong company performance, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction.  She is a dedicated leader that focuses on strategic planning for the growth and success of PayTech.

Nick Buckley

President

Joining PayTech in 2011, Nick has seen the company through 5x growth in revenue as well as overseen multiple service expansions over the last decade. Nick frequently defers praise to the incredible leadership team he is surrounded by and promotes an open and transparent culture where honest feedback can be given and received.    

Before his role at PayTech, Nick served as the Director of Business Development for a telecom firm for eight years overseeing annual revenues of $8M. He secured an SBA loan, developed in-house inventory systems and processes from the ground up, as well as sales relationships with many of the top 10 wireless carriers in the US.

Karen Volkert

Chief Operations Officer and Corporate Strategist

Joining PayTech in 2006, Karen is responsible for executive oversight and leadership of PayTech’s Operations team, which includes US, Private Equity, Global, Canada, and Partner Technology Services, as well as developing PayTech’s long-term goals and strategic growth and objectives. In addition, Karen leads strategic partner development, with an emphasis on delivering exceptional partner relationships and ensuring that PayTech’s service and delivery align with our partners’ growth objectives. Karen focuses on leading with integrity and empathy and encourages the use of Emotional Intelligence across the organization.

Karen has over 30 years of HR/Payroll project management and consulting experience, with multiple roles in leadership and consulting across businesses such as Marriott International, Janus Henderson, and National Computer Systems. In her previous roles at PayTech, Karen served as SVP of Corporate Strategy and Initiatives, VP of Project Management and Development, and Manager of Project Management. She started with PayTech as a Project Manager focusing on Private Equity and carve-out projects. As a result of her consistent achievements, Karen is a a four-time winner of the PayTech President’s Club award.

Amy Lemann

Vice President of Human Resources

With over 25 years of human resources experience in the public sector and HCM industries, Amy has extensive hands-on experience leading HR strategic initiatives in the areas of Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement and retention, Training, and Total Rewards. Joining PayTech in 2006, Amy partners with the executive leadership team at PayTech in defining and developing organizational objectives while leading the human resource team to align the HR function with these initiatives. As a result of her consistent achievements, Amy is a proud recipient of the PayTech President’s Club award.

Amy holds Bachelor of Art degrees from the Leeds Business School, University of Colorado at Boulder and is a member of SHRM. Amy resides in Castle Rock with her husband, son, and Husky/Malamute fur baby. In her spare time, she enjoys camping trips in the family RV and supporting her son with his passion for Taekwondo. 

Valerie Sickels

Valerie Sickels

Vice President of Private Equity and Global Services

Valerie Sickels leads the company’s private equity and global operations, with responsibility for divisions in the United States and Canada.  She also oversees the company’s ongoing service expansion efforts in EMEA, APAC and LATAM.  In her previous roles at PayTech, she served as Director and Manager of Private Equity as well as Sr. Project Manager serving PE and global clients.  Valerie is responsible for driving the strategy, growth, and services of the Private Equity & Canadian divisions as well as the company’s increasing development and expansion efforts into global markets. As a result of her consistent achievements, Valerie is a three-time winner of the PayTech President’s Club award.

Before joining PayTech in November 2007, Valerie consulted as a project manager.  Serving the Healthcare and Finance industries, she worked with HR and Payroll teams across the US.  Early in her career Valerie worked as an entrepreneur owning a small business.  Valerie holds a master’s degree in organizational management, and a bachelor’s degree in management and accounting.

Anders Timberg

Vice President of Partner Technology and US Services

Joining PayTech in 2024, Anders Timberg leads the company’s Partner technology and US Service teams. Anders is responsible for driving the growth, structure, and relationships within PayTech’s partner community and delivering vendor-side implementation services in the United States.

Before joining PayTech in 2024, Anders held multiple leadership roles focused on Global partner strategy and growth, business development, and operational excellence. He has a Bachelor of Arts from the College of William and Mary.

Joanne Wagner

Director of Global Sales, Private Equity, and Partner Development

Joining the PayTech team in 2014, Joanne serves as the Director of Global Sales, Private Equity, and Partner Development.  As a result of her consistent achievements, Joanne is a proud recipient of the PayTech Circle of Excellence award and the PayTech President’s Club award. Prior to PayTech, Joanne worked in various software sales roles, as well as earning an International MBA from the University of Denver. As a result of her consistent achievements, Joanne is a proud recipient of the PayTech Circle of Excellence award and a two-time winner of the PayTech President’s Club award.

Joanne grew up in the Chicago suburbs, but now lives in the mountains of Colorado with her husband, 3 kids and their dog.  She loves to ski, mountain bike and paddle board – reach out to talk anything PayTech or if you need advice on locations to ski.

Susan Wann

Director of US Sales & Partner Development

Joining PayTech in 2018, Susan serves as the Director of US Sales & Partner Development and is the recipient of the PayTech Circle of Excellence award and the PayTech’s President’s club award.

Prior to joining PayTech, Susan held regional sales and leadership roles in the HCM, telecommunications and print solutions industries. She achieved multiple President’s Club awards, earned Top District Partner/Referral distinctions and developed client loyalty programs that impacted overall satisfaction and retention. Susan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Management from Saint Mary’s College in California.

Susan grew up in Southern California, spent 20 years in the Bay Area and now resides in Castle Pines, CO with her son and two Doodles, Sam and Lucy. Susan enjoys golf, hosting game-night dinner parties and doing voiceover work.

Lisa Miller

Director of HCM Consulting Services

Joining PayTech in 2005, Lisa is responsible for managing and driving the strategic direction, methodology, and service delivery of HCM Consulting Services teams throughout the United States. She focuses on developing collaborative relationships with employees, partners, and clients and ensuring the highest level of service delivery for all engagements. Lisa has over 25 years of industry experience in servant leadership, project management, consulting, and human resources. Her knowledge, expertise, and leadership approach align with and support, PayTech’s key initiatives and strategic goals for the continued success and growth of the organization. As a result of her consistent achievements, Lisa is a proud recipient of the PayTech President’s Club award.

In her previous roles at PayTech, Lisa served as a Manager over the US Project Management team and Project Manager supporting various HCM services. Before joining PayTech, Lisa held leadership positions in Human Resource management.

Rachel Holland

Director of Private Equity and Global Services

Joining PayTech in 2014, Rachel supported Private Equity, US and Global clients as a Sr. Project Manager before being promoted to Manager of Private Equity & Global Services in 2020. Rachel has been an integral part of the growth and success of the Private Equity team, driving revenue through enhanced service deliverables, employee development and partnering with sales to further grow our PE and advisory partner network. She applied these same principles to supporting the Global team since its launch in 2022. As a result of her consistent achievements, Rachel is a proud recipient of the PayTech President’s Club award.

With over 20 years of expertise in payroll, human resources, project and relationship management, across multiple industries, Rachel has a well-informed view of the marketplace and what it takes to meet the demands of PE and Global clients. As Director, she will be responsible for driving the performance and strategic direction of the Private Equity, Global and Canadian teams. Focusing on the strategic needs of our partners and clients, Rachel will continue to develop services and methodologies that keep PayTech a provider of choice.

Tamara Vodehnal

Director of Partner Technology Services

Joining PayTech in 2014, Tamara is responsible for driving the performance and strategic direction of the PayTech Partner Technology teams. She focuses on directing the creation and design of PayTech’s partner solution delivery. In her previous roles at PayTech, she served as the Manager of HRIS Services and a Project Manager supporting larger-scale complex clients. In addition, Tamara’s relationship management focus includes collaborating with partner contacts and internal stakeholders to align strategic needs and project expectations for integrating project workstreams.

Tamara has over 30 years of expertise in human resources, payroll, project, and relationship management. Before joining PayTech, Tamara had experience in executive relationship management, overseeing a successful book of business of over $10M, and managing payroll and human resource departments, for various industries. In addition, she holds a degree in management and accounting.

Kyle Romero-Rogal

Director of HCM Consulting Services

Joining PayTech in 2015, Kyle is responsible for managing and driving the strategic direction, methodology, and service delivery of Payroll Consulting and HCM Project Management teams throughout the United States. He is a proven leader with vast experience building and maintaining valuable, trusting, and long-term relationships with our clients, partners, and employees, ensuring client satisfaction and quality assurance. Kyle is committed to excellence, supporting and leading key initiatives to drive PayTech’s continued growth strategies. As a result of his consistent achievements, Kyle is a proud recipient of the PayTech President’s Club award.

Before joining PayTech, Kyle had extensive experience leading Payroll, Project Management, and HR teams within various industries. He became fully immersed in his Payroll and HCM career in 1994 and has been a Certified Payroll Professional since 2006.

Patrick Robinson

Director of Finance and Internal Corporate Services

Joining PayTech in 2022, Patrick oversees all finance and accounting activities. He partners directly with all departments to provide financial insights that support data-driven strategic decisions. As a result of his consistent achievements, Patrick is a proud recipient of the PayTech President’s Club award.

With over ten years of financial experience at various publicly traded companies in the energy and telecommunications industries, Patrick continually examines existing processes. He implements efficient and effective changes within PayTech to support the company’s continued growth. Patrick holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Oklahoma State University.
