Jan Allen
CEO - Founder
As a 28 year veteran working in the payroll profession Jan recognized a lack of support available within the industry, and saw an opportunity to create a company where various types of client-side payroll support could be provided on a consultative basis. In 1999, she founded PayTech, a Payroll and HCM Consulting Company that guides companies through change management. Jan is committed to building and maintaining lasting partner relationships, strong company performance, operational efficiency, and client satisfaction. She is a dedicated leader that focuses on strategic planning for the growth and success of PayTech.

Nick Buckley
President
Joining PayTech in 2011, Nick has seen the company through 5x growth in revenue as well as overseen multiple service expansions over the last decade. Nick frequently defers praise to the incredible leadership team he is surrounded by and promotes an open and transparent culture where honest feedback can be given and received.
Before his role at PayTech, Nick served as the Director of Business Development for a telecom firm for eight years overseeing annual revenues of $8M. He secured an SBA loan, developed in-house inventory systems and processes from the ground up, as well as sales relationships with many of the top 10 wireless carriers in the US.

Karen Volkert
Chief Operations Officer and Corporate Strategist
Karen is responsible for executive oversight and leadership of PayTech’s Operations team, which includes US, Private Equity, Global, Canada, and Partner Technology Services, as well as developing PayTech’s long-term goals and strategic growth and objectives. In addition, Karen leads strategic partner development, with an emphasis on delivering exceptional partner relationships and ensuring that PayTech’s service and delivery align with our partners’ growth objectives. Karen focuses on leading with integrity and empathy and encourages the use of Emotional Intelligence across the organization.
Karen has over 30 years of HR/Payroll project management and consulting experience, with multiple roles in leadership and consulting across businesses such as Marriott International, Janus Henderson, and National Computer Systems. In her previous roles at PayTech, Karen served as SVP of Corporate Strategy and Initiatives, VP of Project Management and Development, and Manager of Project Management. She started with PayTech as a Project Manager focusing on Private Equity and carve-out projects.

Valerie Sickels
Vice President of Private Equity and Global Services
Valerie Sickels leads the company’s private equity and global operations, with responsibility for divisions in the United States and Canada. She also oversees the company’s ongoing service expansion efforts in EMEA, APAC and LATAM. In her previous roles at PayTech, she served as Director and Manager of Private Equity as well as Sr. Project Manager serving PE and global clients. Valerie is responsible for driving the strategy, growth, and services of the Private Equity & Canadian divisions as well as the company’s increasing development and expansion efforts into global markets.
Before joining PayTech in November 2007, Valerie consulted as a project manager. Serving the Healthcare and Finance industries, she worked with HR and Payroll teams across the US. Early in her career Valerie worked as an entrepreneur owning a small business. Valerie holds a master’s degree in organizational management, and a bachelor’s degree in management and accounting.

Lucinda Flores
Vice President of Partner Technology Services
Joining PayTech in 2015, Lucinda is responsible for leading the strategic growth, development, and service delivery of the Partner Technology Services teams. She places focus on creating strong partner and client relationships while developing innovative and practical solutions that align with client organizational culture and business needs.
Lucinda has over 20 years of human resources and HCM/payroll project management experience in medium and large corporations. Before joining PayTech, she held leadership positions in the insurance and public sector industries. Lucinda holds Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees from the University of Colorado and is SPHR and CCP certified.

Lisa Miller
Director of HCM Consulting Services
Joining PayTech in 2005, Lisa is responsible for managing and driving the strategic direction, methodology, and service delivery of HCM Consulting Services teams throughout the United States. She focuses on developing collaborative relationships with employees, partners, and clients and ensuring the highest level of service delivery for all engagements. Lisa has over 25 years of industry experience in servant leadership, project management, consulting, and human resources. Her knowledge, expertise, and leadership approach align with and support, PayTech’s key initiatives and strategic goals for the continued success and growth of the organization.
In her previous roles at PayTech, Lisa served as a Manager over the US Project Management team and Project Manager supporting various HCM services. Before joining PayTech, Lisa held leadership positions in Human Resource management.

Amy Lemann
Director of Human Resources
Joining the PayTech team in 2006, Amy has extensive hands-on experience leading HR initiatives including Strategy, Talent Acquisition, Employee Engagement & Retention, Learning & Development and Total Rewards. Working with the leadership team at PayTech in defining and developing organizational objectives, Amy provides strategic direction and leads the human resource team to align the HR function with these initiatives.
Amy has over 20 years of human resources and prior to joining PayTech, has she held positions within the public sector industry. Amy holds Bachelor of Art degrees from the University of Colorado and is a member of SHRM.

Tamara Vodehnal
Director of Partner Technology Services
Joining PayTech in 2014, Tamara is responsible for driving the performance and strategic direction of the PayTech Partner Technology teams. She focuses on directing the creation and design of PayTech’s partner solution delivery. In her previous roles at PayTech, she served as the Manager of HRIS Services and a Project Manager supporting larger-scale complex clients. In addition, Tamara’s relationship management focus includes collaborating with partner contacts and internal stakeholders to align strategic needs and project expectations for integrating project workstreams.
Tamara has over 30 years of expertise in human resources, payroll, project, and relationship management. Before joining PayTech, Tamara had experience in executive relationship management, overseeing a successful book of business of over $10M, and managing payroll and human resource departments, for various industries. In addition, she holds a degree in management and accounting.

Joanne Wagner
Director of Global, Private Equity, and Partner Development
Joining PayTech in 2014, Joanne is responsible for the strategic growth of global, private equity sales and partner development. In her previous roles at PayTech, she served as a Sales Manager for the Southeast territory and the Private Equity and Global Alliance Development team. With over 20 years of sales and account management experience, she focuses on the expansion of global and private equity partnerships to support sales growth for PayTech’s Global Consulting Services team.
Before PayTech, she worked in various software sales roles spanning multiple industries. Joanne holds an International MBA from the University of Denver and a Bachelor’s in International Business and Marketing.

Kyle Romero-Rogal
Director of HCM Consulting Services
Joining PayTech in 2015, Kyle is responsible for managing and driving the strategic direction, methodology, and service delivery of Payroll Consulting and HCM Project Management teams throughout the United States. He is a proven leader with vast experience building and maintaining valuable, trusting, and long-term relationships with our clients, partners, and employees, ensuring client satisfaction and quality assurance. Kyle is committed to excellence, supporting and leading key initiatives to drive PayTech’s continued growth strategies.
Before joining PayTech, Kyle had extensive experience leading Payroll, Project Management, and HR teams within various industries. He became fully immersed in his Payroll and HCM career in 1994 and has been a Certified Payroll Professional since 2006.

Susan Wann
Director of Sales & Partner Development
Joining PayTech in 2018, Susan is responsible for building and expanding strategic growth and sales objectives. Utilizing her 20 years of operational and sales experience, she focuses on partner development and client expansion for PayTech’s US focused services.
Before joining PayTech, Susan held regional sales and leadership roles in the HCM, telecommunications, and distribution industries. Susan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Management from Saint Mary’s College of California, and her mission is to champion our role as a Trusted Advisor to partners and clients.

Patrick Robinson
Director of Finance
Joining PayTech in 2022, Patrick oversees all finance and accounting activities. He partners directly with all departments to provide financial insights that support data-driven strategic decisions.
With over ten years of financial experience at various publicly traded companies in the energy and telecommunications industries, Patrick continually examines existing processes. He implements efficient and effective changes within PayTech to support the company’s continued growth. Patrick holds a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Oklahoma State University.
